Do only the essentials each day
Keep walkways clear, wipe kitchen surfaces after cooking and deal with visible spills quickly. Ten focused minutes are usually more useful than expecting every room to be fully cleaned every day.
- Wipe the worktop and dining table
- Remove crumbs from the eating area
- Air the bathroom and rinse the basin
- Collect toys and loose items together
Set weekly priorities
Reserve one weekly slot for the bathroom, kitchen, vacuuming and mopping. Spread larger jobs such as the fridge, oven and windows across different weeks so that the workload stays manageable.
When support can help
When work, childcare and appointments leave little free time, weekly or biweekly cleaning can take pressure off the household. Agree the most important rooms first so that the booked time goes where it makes the greatest difference.
